Today saw another treasured unit member cross the departure gate at Changi Airport, waiting to embark on his next phase of journey in Melbourne’s Trinity College, as well as Hope Melbourne. The Airport is gradually transforming into my second home at the rate I am making my trips there. The dreams that we have dreamt – they are slowing evolving into reality.
I was casually telling my Mum about my plans to pursue my degree overseas if I ever have the chance to. Guess her reply?
女孩子读那么多书来干什么?
Today also saw myself in the shoes of a pioneer! It took me twenty gazillion courage pills before I approached my first ACS(I) boy. The sun was scorching hot and my feet and arms were burnt after a mere hour – which explains why my classic Havaianas tanline never fades.
Today saw myself doing things which I have not done in a long time.
On another note, the boys and I played basketball after caregroup and man, I enjoyed their company very much! They had the best spirit that a rose among the thorns could ever wish for, seriously! Who would expect a team of 14 year old boys to welcome a noob 19 year old female into their team with open arms – not just that, allow her several attempts to score with a 99% probability that she might jeopardize the team’s reputation, etc.
I do not think any one taught them specifically that this should be the way to go, but don’t you think it is amazing that a bunch of 14 year olds can exhibit such maturity? I am at a utter loss of words now. Haha.
For the first time in my life, I can proclaim that gentlemen do exist. This is the kind of (biblical) men that we want to and are building in Central D! I am so proud of you kids!
