Hellery

April 26, 2008

I have paused long enough on this page that my anger has subsided.

DEAR GOD,
This is taking so much humility but, You know what?
I AM DYING WITHOUT YOU!

Help me communicate my conviction.

April 24, 2008

I was browsing youtube.com for ideas for Camp opening and closing when I came across this word – Ventriloquist. Out of curiosity, I followed the link and chanced upon this video. The hits are crazy!

Verbs and Nouns

April 20, 2008

Go_by_TheChuChuGirLs

You may make a strawberry cake.
You can make a banana cake.
You should make a cheese cake.

vs.

Go and make a strawberry cheese cake with banana toppings.

The former merely suggests, while the later sends a specific instruction. In the last segment of Matthew 28, Jesus did not say, you may, you should, neither did He suggested you could. He made it very clearly, GO.

Other versions may include: Wallowing in self pity, being concerned about yourself, poking into affairs which do not concern you, etc. Whatever it is, stop talking so much, just GO!

Live up to your words, dudes.

Fun with Haikus

April 16, 2008

A Visit to The Orthodontist
A Haiku written by Xanthe

All the hues of blue,
painted on a set of teeth,
so gruesome, oh eew!

Thick and thin wires,
weaved in and out of brackets,
stick out like sore thumbs.

The power of chains,
was felt on my lower jaw.
Oh, beauty from pain?

Now the tension’s high,
and I do not feel alright.
Perhaps, for a while.

The pain will linger,
but Dorothy’s in hunger.
Should she eat, or not?

Though some time later,
the pain will cease, but we know
it’s a carousel.

Give it a try, 17 syllabuses of 5-7-5 and you get a Haiku. Unlike poems, they do not necessarily need to rhyme.

Fairsians, remember this?

Claudia and Phoebe, we have approximately 3 months to break another territory. No, we are not going to count on the faces we had last year. They have already moved on to another stage of their lives. Start a revival in the new generation.

Josephians, look at this.

Jem and Keith, the future of SJI is in your hands. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. It is high time for the workers to start slogging.
